"WALLABY CREEK " IS NOT A MEANS OF TRANSPORT _____________________________________________ SHE IS A WAY OF LIFE ___________________________ _____________________________ " WALLABY CREEK " REGISTERED AUSTRALIAN SHIP O.N. 854 760 BASIC LONG RANGE DEEP SEA CRUISING YACHT OWNER & MASTER ALAN PHILLIPS " WALLABY CREEK " is legally registered as an Australian ship. She fully complies with all rules and regulations of the government. Look it up on the web at the Australian Ships Registry. Registration no ON854760 There is no insurance on the boat other property or on any persons onboard. No liability accepted, ever, for anything. In my 22 years of sailing there has never been even a moderate injury and never a crew person overboard. It is MUCH safer then driving a car The boat is set up for singlehanded sailing and I have done thousands of miles alone. I now prefer to have a full crew. I have had people not turn up when expected. So there is now a deposit prior to listing on Crewlist . US $ 50. It is a small amount just to prove that you are serious. I also want your flight details as early as possible. Pay the money at www.paypal.com to wallabycreek@yahoo.com Certificates for sailing qualifications will be issued to anybody who wants one. These can be used for formal sea miles as required by yachting associations. THE OTHER IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE TO KNOW is the legal position in regard to the maritime authorities and your travelling on a private yacht. In most countries in order to take paying passengers I have to have commercial licences. Then the Government wants money and they also restrict the areas of sailing. It is perfectly legal for people to come aboard as crew and to share expenses. The government attitude is that it is perfectly safe and legal for me to take my baby daughter but not to take a fit and healthy young man if he pays a commercial fare. So ALL VISITORS ARE CREW. You will have duties to do which will be allocated in accordance with your abilities. Everybody cooks. You will not be asked to do something that is beyond your abilities. If authorities board the boat as they do occasionally your instructions are not to answer any questions. Refer them to the captain. Thanks.
